Riia Palmqvist is a former teacher trainer of University of Helsinki inspired to enhance teachers’ professional development. She holds a M.A. in Education and a PhD in Social Sciences (social psychology) combined with special needs teacher and professional guidance councellor qualifications. She currently works at the Finnish National Agency for Education as a councellor of education. In Department of General education and early childhood and care her expertise areas are support for learning, special needs education, student well-being, and guidance and councelling. Previously she has presented workshops for teachers and taken an active role in developing learning materials
Lasse leponiemi is passionate about youth future orientation and he has worked in education and career-planning since 2006. He is the Co-Founder and Executive Director at HundrED - a Finnish not-for-profit organization, which seeks and shares inspiring innovations in education. HundrED selects 100 pedagogically sound education innovations from around the world annually and helps them spread throughout their wide network of educators in 100+ countries. Lasse is also a co-founder
and current chairman of Mentors of Finland , a non-profit organization that mentors unemployed young people, free-of-charge.
The organization helps over 500 young people find work each year.
Dr. Mika Luimula works as a Research Group Leader of Futuristic Interactive Technologies and as a Principal Lecturer of Game and Interactive Technologies for Turku University of Applied Sciences. He holds a PhD in Information Processing Sciences and an MSc in Mathematics. Dr. Luimula holds an Adjunct Professorship at the University of Turku and is a senior advisor to the board of Ade Ltd. His research interests include gamification, serious games, virtual reality, augmented reality, health informatics and location-aware systems. He has published around 130 scientific papers and his research group has won various awards in the abovementioned research areas.
Maarit Pihl works as a COO and business Manager for Kiwa Inspecta Finland. Maarit has worked in the training industry for more than a decade and during this time has been involved in multiple development programs, where the latest findings on learning studies have been taken in to practice in the business sector.
